The most glamorous lingerie fashion show of the year aired this past Tuesday night on CBS with musical guests Jane Zhang, Leslie Odom Jr., Miguel and Harry Styles.
This year, a diverse cast of Angels took their wings to Shanghai filling the nation with both body and bra envy. The Angels looked as goddess-like as ever with a range of distinct collections surrounded by a number of new models. Despite the unconventional runway setup and send off of veteran Alessandra Ambrosio, the night turned out to be the most cohesive in recent years.

Surprisingly, nearly every section incorporated colorful accessories and patterns, something usually reserved only for the PINK section. The models played into this animalistic vibe with fun possess and lively walks, all while maintaining the sophistication of a Victoria’s Secret Angel.

One aspect of the show that had excited fans, since the announcement of the lineup, was the amount of minority representation. Over the past few years Victoria’s Secret has had a growing number of black and Asian models in the fashion show, and this year that number continued to grow. Shanghai native, Ming Xi donned one the most elegant outfits of the night and model Grace Bol bolstered representation of not just black models, but darker skinned black models.

Angel Lais Ribeiro donned this year’s fantasy bra, for the first time in her career, valued at $2 million. The gold leaf detailed set beautifully accentuated Ribeiro’s skin tone.

Swedish model, Elsa Hosk received the honor of this year’s Swarovski bra, while the crystal incrusted outfit did not exceed the fantasy bra’s price tag, it did rival the main attraction in terms of its show stopping ability with it’s fiery, dragon-like wings.
Departing the brand after nearly a decade, Alessandra Ambrosio controlled the runway like usual, with her silent but powerful stare. The Brazilian bombshell will be impossible to replace, making this year’s show truly one of a kind.
