KAOS on The Rock

Crowds gathered last Thursday night to support UM’s very own co-ed hip hop team KAOS. The night started at 9 p.m. and included plenty of twerking, bootyshaking and guest performances.

In between KAOS’ different performances, the audience also experienced acts by alumni, local dancers from Organized Kaos (a studio in Hialeah owned by an alum), and UM’s Bhangra and Ujhoom dance teams.

Special performance from the Bhangra dance team.

The dancers showed off their skills with multiple hip hop numbers choreographed by KAOS members, including  a contemporary piece that slowed it down and stole the show, proving that KAOS is not just about Pop Lockin’ and Droppin’.

The show also included a twerking contest and the famous KAOS lap dance. The audience swooned as a few lucky ladies sat on stage and got a personal lap dance courtesy of KAOS’ talented male dancers.

As KAOS wrapped up the night by preforming the piece they danced last December at a Miami Heat game, everyone in the crowed wanted more.

“The best part of KAOS is that everyone brings something unique to the table allowing us to grow from one another every single day as people and dancers,” KAOS President Megan Bullock said after the show. “The love that each member on KAOS has for the art of dance and every dancer on this team is honestly incredible.”

If you were one of those people that wanted to jump on stage and dance with Megan and the team, KAOS is hosting a dance workshop this Sunday at noon at the Wellness Center. These workshops are hosted monthly and  everyone is welcome to come and learn a few moves.

If you are interested in joining the team, KAOS spring auditions are tonight at 9:30 p.m. at the Wellness Center as well. For more information look up KAOS on Facebook or email the team directly at umiamikaos@gmail.com.
