Freshmen Qi Chen, a Bejing native, pulls off a stylish, casual look with a cotton maxi skirt, brown moccasins and an asymmetrical tee with ruffle detail that peeps a little skin. You know, giving them enough to get excited about but leaving a little for the imagination. The communication studies major can always be spotted wearing something relaxed and comfortable. Qi claims that she mixes up her wardrobe by combining unique pieces with basics to keep her style fresh. She stays fashion relevant by scanning the pages of Vogue. Perhaps she found inspiration in the style bible for her mustard-yellow and brown trimmed leather bag? Check out Vogue’s Fall 2011 100 Under $100 to find out how to update your seasonal wardrobe. Even though Qi has only been in the U.S. for a few years, this UM newbie definitely has a handle on what it means to be fashion forward in Miami.
