Back at the U

The new year is about to start very soon and a we all want to be prepared for whatever comes our way. Here’s a guide to get things going here at the U!

Here’s a few ways that you can be a prepared fall semester ‘Cane:

Let’s Get Organized!

Planners and calendars are your best friends. From scheduling all the club meetings to planning your next trip to Bimini, an organized Cane is a successful Cane. TJ Maxx and Target are my go to places for a wide variety of planners. If your looking for the organizing stickers or cool pens for every subject, you have to check out these stores.

Fashion. Fashion. Fashion!!

So you’re probably wondering where to shop. Of course the international students will outshine you but don’t be discouraged lol. Zara, Nordstrom Rack, and Forever 21 have sales on the daily and at affordable prices. If you are like me, you get tired of clothes very easily, fortunately, since prices at these stores are so reasonable you can drop of your old clothes at Goodwill etc and pick up the newest threads soon after.

Concerts & Entertainment

One of the greatest things about living in Miami is the music! Check out Ticketmaster and SongKick for the latest and greatest. Don’t miss out on the fun this semester. American Airlines Arena and the James L. Knight Center have conciertos on the regular so there’s something for everyone. Studying is fantastic but living in club Richter is not the move.

Do your research.

If you’re new to the city, plan fun things to do with your new friends at the “U”! Having a plan saves a lot of time and it definitely beats sitting in your dorm room scrolling through everyone’s fun snap stories. Personally, I like to go off campus to the beach, shop (of course), and eat great food. Start planning your next adventure now and I guarantee you’ll be the most prepared person in your friend group.

A new year is exciting! It’s a time to reconnect with old friends or start new relationships. A time to try new things and to travel to new and exciting places. Whether your hitting up South Beach or studying in the University Center, this year is what you make of it and having a plan helps you make the most of it!
