Catapult your wardrobe into hotness with the addition of Summer’s go-to color—cobalt blue. This pop of color can be a treat for your street style. For Miami’s heat (we mean the one off the court), grab your tiny tankini (we are buying that polka dot cobalt blue one…NOW) and complete the look with a cobalt blue cap and your favorite shades. You’ll be the standout on SoBe. Even if you are spending your Summer in the office interning, that doesn’t mean this trend is off limits. Grab your favorite, staple office dress and adorn yourself in a cute cobalt blue blazer, your black closed toed heels, and your favorite long necklace. Don’t forget that briefcase – no seriously, total fashion Do. Grab that Cobalt Blue Kate Spade Leather Laptop Briefcase for the finishing touch and make cobalt blue an instant statement!
Summer is also the perfect time to bust out your bustier. Grab that maxi skirt and your favorite bustier (black maxi and flowery bustier are our faves) and you have a perfect pair. Have them meet in the middle or leave a peek of your flawless summer tan for understated Summer sexiness. If you dare, show off even more of that tanned middle (thank you pilates!), with your cutest patterned bustier, white denim shorties, flawless flats, and some cute bangles for a complete Summer look. And don’t think we would leave the office girls out of the mix! Grab that peplum bustier, your favorite pencil skirt, short office necklace (perhaps the gold one?), and add your blazer in for the final touch of professionalism.
Finally, Bahama Mama! While we are enjoying the sunny summer weather, designers are hard at work creating the next fashion masterpieces. Alexander McQueen may have left us, but his legacy lives on through creative director Sarah Burton. While the colors are the queen(s) of classic, the brand’s nod to a smorgasbord of crazy tropical inspired patterns are certainly the out-of-the-box thinking which McQueen would have been proud to see on the runway—or in this case, any fashionable girl on her resort retreat. But, resort wear is not that without a little skin. Short-as-can-be dresses were a must have in this collection—because who vacations without showing a little leg? The dresses artfully paired with white sandals and doily like patterns give these skin-showing pieces an air of innocence that can only be created by the most experienced designer. If we had to describe it we’d say: Flower Child meets Fashionista extraordinaire. Nor was there any shortage of daydreams that inspired Burton’s tropical pants exploding with so many crazy flowers and shapes that we get lost in a hippie inspired palm tree haze. She pushed the envelope pairing these eye-catching pants with a blue, peplum top and some tan Woodstock sandals. If anyone else had tried it, it would have been over the top. But, Miss Burton has our eyes lighting up in glee with this ensemble. The new Queen Bee has arrived. We bow down to Miss Burton for the hotness to come in 2014—and we aren’t just referring to the tropical weather.
