Public Relations major Junior Cleo Li showcases her signature style in a bandeau top, turquoise skirt from Urban Outfitters, buckled combat boots, and vibrant watch and bracelets.
Campus style star Chleo Li caught our fashionable eye with her unique outfit touches, like her tied skirt that created a standout sense of style. The fact that Li never tries too hard to be trendy may have just been the reason she piqued our interest. We think her outfit is truly runway worthy. Read our interview with her to inspire your next outfit:
Distraction: How did you get the idea to use a hair tie to taper your skirt?
Chleo: My skirt was too long, and I didn’t want to send it to the tailor.
Distraction: We really like your vibrant watch and bracelets. What do you consider when accessorizing?
Chleo:Well, I don’t really like luxury watches because they make me feel like I’m wearing a price tag on my wrist. Instead, I just look for standout pieces.
Distraction: What is one tip you can give students who are interested in more creativity with their fashion choices?
Chleo: Don’t try too hard to be trendy because you will just look like everyone else on the street.
Distraction: Name five staple items in your closet you can’t live without.
Chleo:
- Plain white t-shirt
- Long sleeve shirt
- High-top sneakers
- Headband
- Denim
Distraction: Do you have any advice for girls looking to pair this season’s staples in a unique way?
Chleo: Well, in Miami you can’t really follow the season. But darker tones can at least help us feel a bit like we are in the fall/winter season.
Distraction: How much do you pay attention to current trends?
Chleo: I do watch a lot fashion shows but I don’t like to follow the trends. Things look good on the models because they are MODELS! Sometimes, what they wear on the runways won’t necessary look good on everyone.
Distraction: You see a “sale” sign at a clothing store and you…
Chleo: I love to shop online!
