Going on an interview is like going on a first date. You want to make a favorable first impression, and whether this is fair or not, that first impression is often based on how we look. Instead of standing in front of the mirror, ripping apart your closet for hours to find an appropriate look before an interview, attend this event geared to help students pick the perfect interview outfit.
On February 2, University of Miami female students will have an opportunity to participate in an interactive campus event and hear from fashion professionals on how to dress for an important interview. Ann Taylor is hosting the event and chose University of Miami students Katy Patao and Daniella Valencia as campus ambassadors to assist in engaging events throughout the spring where they will give students fashion advice and tackle the question all students find themselves wondering: “What do I wear to this interview?”
The sensibly chic brand Ann Taylor will also hold a casting call for the Ann Taylor Online Lookbook, a dependable resource aiming to help female undergraduate and graduate students with styling tips and career inspiration for a variety of different industries. Students will also receive interview guidelines and resume critiques. Participants of the day may enter to win a $100 Ann Taylor shopping spree just for attending, and the casting call will be held Feb. 2 from 4-6 p.m. at the Lower Lounge in the UC.
Another enticing offer includes 20 percent off full-price purchases at all Ann Taylor stores across the United States, as well as online at anntaylor.com. To take advantage of the discount, simply show your Cane ID at the register. Stop stressing about the perfect interview outfit and attend this event. The next time you score the chance to take a step towards your future career, you’ll feel confident and look classy.
