Another New York Fashion Week has come and gone, leaving behind some memorable moments. Since we understand you might be too busy catching up on school work between social outings, Distraciton went ahead and summarized 5 of the biggest moments.
5. NYFW Tweets were trending by the second.
Our top pick was a Tweet from the hilarious Andy Cohen:
“Just helped a poor lost model find Industria. I do enjoy
fashion week! #FeedThe Models”
Oh Andy, we’re glad you are so direction savvy. The shows would go on, but it’s slightly difficult without the models.
4. Fire on the runway – literally.
There was a fire backstage before the BCBG Max Azria show. Luckily, the crisis was averted and the flames were doused to pave way for the fierce collection. This further proves that fashion people seriously can do anything.
3. Anna Wintour smiled.
Apparently not even the Ice Queen can resist David Beckham’s children. Victoria Beckham uploaded an image onto Instagram that depicts her husband carrying their daughter as Anna glances over and slightly smiles. Or was it the hot man himself that inspired this global warming worthy event?
2. Street style is phenomenal at NYFW.
Street girls represent! Some fashionably dressed ladies gave designers inside the tents a run for their money.
1. The Prabal Gurung Spring Collection – WTF?
Let’s just say that the show used giant plastic shower curtains, models (literally) stormed the stage, and the audience emitted audible gasps. We don’t blame them; With vibrant greens, complimenting the most dramatic lip make-up you will ever see, 60’s cat-eye glasses complimenting the pink poodle adorned dresses, obscure pastel colored suit-like dresses complete with bow ties, and shape and pattern shifting dresses, it seems like Gurung’s inspiration was anything and everything ever made. If we had to categorize the collection in one acronym, it would be “wtf “ (what the fashion!)
